How to find us
Buses (numbers 2, 21 and 30) stop just outside or opposite the Health Centre on Niddrie Mains Road. The number 14 bus stop is a little further along Niddrie Mains Road, towards the city centre.
There is car parking space beside the Medical Centre. Additional space is available in the Lidl car park behind the Medical Centre.
The Craigmillar Medical Centre building is wheelchair-accessible.
The Sexual Health Clinic is located in the Community Services Corridor. This is off to the left at the rear of the building. Ask at the main reception if you need help to find us.
Room 1 is our Reception, where you will need to check in when you arrive. Rooms 4 and 7 are our two clinical rooms.
Who we are
The team is made up of a receptionist, nurse and doctor. The clinic is primarily a walk-in service but there are one or two scheduled appointments each week for particular procedures. It is not possible to book appointments at this clinic.
When we are open
Thursday morning: 9:15 – 11:30am
Our direct telephone number during the clinic time is 0131 536 9641.
If you attend as a walk-in, you will be seen as quickly as possible. There may be a wait, depending on the number of people attending. You will be kept informed of the likely waiting time.
Who can come
Anyone may attend the clinic, whatever their age, sex and sexuality. We offer a confidential service and can refer you on to more appropriate services if necessary. Priority will be given to people who live in the local area. Sometimes people who work or study close to the clinic also choose to come if the opening times suit them.
If you are registered with any of the local GPs they may refer you to our clinic if they feel you would benefit from specialist advice.
GP practices also offer most of these services. It’s always worth asking first at your local practice to find out what is available.
